If God is leading you into Global Missions, this is the typical path you will take. These are the STEPS from HERE to THERE!
HERE - where you are now
STEP 1: INQUIRER -

- Decide to Answer “The Call” … after personal prayer and confirming counsel from my pastor and local church leaders.
- Examine My Qualifications
• Do I have any Bible training?
• How much schooling do I have?
• Do I have trade or professional skills?
• What cross-cultural exposure do I have?

- Contact NAB Ministry Outreach for help with personal assessment. (If needed, I will pursue further training.)
• Think through:

- Download, complete and send the Up Close and Personal Information Form
- I am invited to “officially” apply based on NAB evaluation of my preparation for missionary service and the personnel requests from the field. An Application for Missionary Service packet will be mailed upon request.
STEP 2: APPLICANT
- To formally apply I:
1. Fill out application. (see above)
2. Secure five personal references. (reference forms included with Application for Missionary Service packet)
3. Obtain copies of my official academic transcripts and professional credentials (if any).
4. Get a physical exam. (form included with the Application for Missionary Service packet)

- I have a formal interview in person at the NAB International Office.
- I am accepted! (Welcome aboard!)
STEP 3: CANDIDATE-
- My Appointment - determined and defined
- I accept my appointment
- I build my Support Team by talking with friends, family, and others to understand my vision. Talk with NAB staff for assistance with:
1. Obtaining prayer partners
2. Securing financial partners
2. Securing financial partners
- I prepare for departure to the field!
STEP 4: MISSIONARY-
- Depart for the field
- Orientation to local culture, field policies and procedures
- Language study if needed
- Begin my assignment.

Consider Short Term service options:
Individual: Skilled person who serves with no remuneration
Gateway Team: Defined ministry group that accepts a field’s invitation to do a specific task
